If you are a faculty or staff member who wants to be supportive of a student who has been the victim of gender-based misconduct, the Resources for Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) provides a list of these things you can do.
All faculty and some staff are deemed “responsible employees.” Responsible employees are required to report all the details of an incident (including the identities of both the student making the complaint and the alleged perpetrator) to the University's Title IX Coordinator, Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students, or to the Associate Dean of Students in the University for Disciplinary Affairs. A disclosure to a responsible employee constitutes a report to the University, and will likely launch a University investigation into the incident. Responsible employees include faculty and instructors, RAs, Resident Heads, Resident Masters, TAs, preceptors, administrative assistants, UCPD staff, and other university employees.
